Kyle Wraps Up GAS Rookie Title With 10th at Senoia
15-Year-Old Concludes GAS Points Season Nearly Perfect In the Top-10
Kyle Fowler now has one more impressive statistic to add to his resume, as well as a title.
In his first year in a Pro Late Model, the 15-year-old sensation locked up the Georgia Asphalt Series Rookie of the Year title Saturday after capturing another top-10 finish, making his record almost perfect: 14 top-10s in 16 starts. He finished 10th in the GAS finale at New Senoia Raceway.
That 14th top-10 wasn’t exactly easy to come by for Fowler.
“We missed the set up and we were fighting that for the entire race,” Fowler said. “We were trying different lines to see what we could get. It was a rough race; it seems like everyone hit everything but the pace car. We came in wanting to get another top-10 and we did just that. It also locks up the Rookie of the Year for us.”
Fowler was elated at winning the esteemed rookie title, and had nothing but praise for the people who helped him reach this milestone in his career.
Kyle wheeled his #4 to another top-10 at Senoia
“My entire family puts out everything they’ve got into my racing; me and my dad pretty much make up the crew. It’s been hard at times to get everything done, but we had a great season.”
Now that Fowler has the rookie title, he can set his sights on winning his first Pro Late Model race. His next chance will be at the World Crown race at Peach State Speedway on November 11th.
