Kyle Fowler Brings Home Top-15 at Lanier National Speedway
Young Driver Continues Bringing In the Solid Finishes
Kyle Fowler headed to Lanier National Speedway looking to be able to bring home his first win of the season. It is a place that he considered one of his home tracks and he was looking forward to the opportunity to race there in a Pro Late Model.
The weekend started out well for him as he was able to start from the pole after the redraw, but misfortune was there waiting for the young driver.
“We came out of the turn I went to pull second gear and it went into first,” said Fowler. “That was my fault. So I regrouped, and I got in behind Greg Motes and just started riding for a while. Then we found some bad luck when Fredrick Moore spun out on the main straightaway, and I had nowhere to go so I spun to miss him.”
After the incident, Fowler was able to work his way back up to a 12th place finish.
Despite not being able to bring home the top finish that he wanted, Fowler knows that the team has made strides which will help them for the remainder of the season.
“This is the best car I have had so far this season, but I have had the worst luck,” added Fowler. “Our main objective is to finish the race with a car in one piece, but we were looking for a better finish than that. We have learned a lot in these first few races, that is for sure.”
