Fowler Still Can Do No Wrong; Finishes 9th at Peachstate
Youngster Keeps Bolstering Early-Season GAS Resume
So far in his rookie season on the Georgia Asphalt Series, 14-year-old Kyle Fowler has been on a tear. He's consistently been in the top-10, finishing outside that top-10 only twice in his first seven starts on the GAS tour, and both of those were 12th's.
That statistic includes Kyle's ninth-place finish at Peachstate Speedway on May 12th. He wanted to score a win for his mom on Mother's Day weekend, but a ninth-place run is still a strong result for the young driver, who continues his charge towards the 2007 GAS Rookie of the Year title.
"We basically just ran through the tires within the first 50 laps," said Fowler. "The car was really good everywhere except off of two. We just had to put an egg under the throttle coming off of that corner.
"There were a lot of catuions tonight and all the restarts were really slow. Everybody was getting stacked up or jacked up, but you just had to survive pretty much.
"It was a real good points night, I guess we did okay coming home ninth."
Kyle will be out to continue his early roll in his 2007 campaign when the series returns to Peachstate Speedway on Saturday May 26th.
