Fowler Holding Head High After Disappointing Night at Mobile
Early Crash Spoils ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour Debut
Starting out with high hopes, Kyle Fowler entered his first race of the 2008 ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour season on Saturday night at Mobile International Speedway.  Unfortunately, those hopes were crushed for the 2007 GAS Rookie of the Year only seven laps into the Bayou 100.

“We had a collapsed spring to start with, so we had to start at the back.  We had to change the shocks,” explained Fowler.  “About seven laps in, the starts were awful today because they started them at the start-finish line instead of in turn four like you're supposed to.  Someone jumped the start, knocked me out of the way and spun me out, and another car hit me in the nose.  That ended it for us.”

Setbacks are the normal in this sport though and Kyle won’t let this effect the way the rest of his season plays out.  Like any good racer and their team should, Fowler is looking at the bright side of the night instead of the dark spots.

“It's a disappointing night, but we still made up a few spots from where we started, and that was only in seven laps of racing, so that about says it all.”
