Kyle Fowler Makes Pro Cup Debut at Myrtle Beach
Georgia Driver Encounters Transmission Problems Early On
Kyle Fowler isn’t afraid of challenges when it comes to racing.  A good example of that came on Saturday, June 20th, when the youngster from Smyrna, Georgia chose one of the toughest tracks to make his USARacing Pro Cup debut.  Nevertheless, Fowler went to Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC) with a positive attitude in search of a solid performance.
Things were going well until transmission woes left him 23rd in the final rundown.

“We were just kind of riding, trying to save tires and stay out of trouble,” said Fowler.  “We had a caution on about lap 40 and on the restart it just wouldn’t go into gear.   So I tried back to third and I had to pull down to the bottom of the track at this point and I was just hoping it would go back in to gear, but we ran around the bottom of the track for a few laps and never got it back into fourth gear.”

Fowler was among the top 10 fastest cars earlier in the day during practice.  Some of that success can relate back to his NASCAR Camping World East debut at Tri-County Speedway (NC) earlier this season.  The knowledge of racing cars heaver then his Late Model helped out at Myrtle Beach.

“They are similar power and similar weight but the tires are the biggest difference between the two cars,” added Fowler.  “I had to adjust my line a little bit today, but we’ll be ready when we go to Lanier next week, that’s our hometown track so we are looking forward to it.”

Fowler will stick with the USARacing Pro Cup Series for his next event at Lanier National Speedway (GA).  The 250 lap race will be on Saturday, June 27th.
