Fowler Runs In Top-Five In Rockingham Debut
Several Incidents Keep the #4N From a Stronger Finish
Kyle Fowler looked forward to the Rockingham Speedway (NC) USARacing Pro Cup Series event on October 10th, as the track was by far the fastest that the teenaged driver had ever competed on.  The speed nor the history of the legendary racetrack fazed the youngster, however, as Fowler kept himself in the top-five and top-10 throughout the event.

But, bad luck crewpt its way towards Fowler's #4N car, wehre after starting 14th, Fowler finished there as well while fighting through several obstacles.
"This was one of the best car that I have had all year despite the short period of time we had to prepare," said Fowler.  "The car was great on the bottom until we got caught up in the incident with the #23 car and the #3 car in turns one and two that hurt the right side of the car pretty good.  But, with the help of the pit crew making great stops we got the car repaired and had gained some good track position.

"At this part in the race we really found something on the high groove the car was awesome up top an we rolled past a bunch of guys up there.  Then a car in front of me blew his engine and I literally couldn’t see anything going into one and

two because of all the oil and debris on the windshield on top of the sun.  I eventually misjudged my entry into the turn and got up into the wall.

"From that point on the car was hurt pretty good and despite running in the top 10 and, at one point in fifth position we were just holding on by our fingertips trying to make it to the finish.  After the race was over we discovered that the RF shock mount had broken off  and the rear end was bent contributing to the ill handling car in the later stages of the race.  We are just lucky to have finished at all."

After the race, despite the misfortunes, Fowler kept his head held high as he reflected on the hard work of his crew.

"Without the help of Dan Glauz Setting the car up and Jeff Fultz crew chiefing at the track, there would have been no way we could've made it to the track.  I also have to thank NAPA/ Brooks Auto Parts for coming on board with us for the Iowa and Rockingham races."
