FROM FOWLER MOTORSPORTS: For 17 year old Kyle Fowler running places like Rockingham Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway have always been a goal. He will finally get the chance to check one of those tracks off his list as he hits Rockingham Speedway this weekend. "I am looking forward to running the NAPA/Brooks Auto Parts Ford this weekend at Rockingham", said Fowler. "We came up and tested last month, its unlike anything I've ran on before it's a mile for one thing and the banking is just pure fun!" The Whitefield Academy high school senior has had a lot on his plate this week. "Well, to tell you the truth I've been a little stressed out this week. I had to turn in two college applications to my college counselor by the end of the week, not to mention two Essays, a trigonometry test and an English quiz. Then on top of that my dad tells me Wednesday our crew chief we had lined up is not going to hel p us for this race." Kyle was wondering if he would get to make the race at all. If not for the help of two HERO UNITS in the form of crew chief Dan Glauze and race car driver and crew chief Jeff Fultz this dream of running Rockingham may not have come to light.
"I really can't thank Mr. Glauze and Mr. Fultz enough they stepped up to the plate on really, really short notice to help us out, if not for them I would be at home keeping up with the race like everyone else on the web this weekend. These guys truly love what they do and are very good at it." Kyle is also proud to be running the Montgomery Air National Guard logo on the hood again this weekend as a friendly reminder to everyone that our troops are still over seas taking care of business. Kyle asked that everyone say a prayer for the troops and to thank a service man or woman if you see them.
Kyle's goals this weekend are to get some seat time on this super fast track, keep the car clean and stay on the lead lap. With the quality crew members he has helping him this weekend and a little luck those goals should be met. As for Bristol Motor Speedway Kyle will get the chance to tackle that track next year on the USAR Pro Cup circuit, but then again that race is scheduled on Graduation Day. Wonder which event he will choose to attend? Duh.....
Have a great weekend race fans!
