Fowler Gets Quality Laps in Iowa
Bad Set of Tires Puts Georgia Driver Behind the Eight Ball
Kyle Fowler may be a rookie in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards, but he knows what it takes to produce results.  Fowler headed to Iowa Speedway for his second-career race with the Eddie Sharp Racing team and looked to score a solid finish in the top 10.  In the end though, Fowler was left with a 22nd place finish.

“A bad set [of tires] got us behind from the drop of the green flag and we were lapped due to the ill-handling car,” explained Fowler.   “We knew as soon as we could get those tires off we would still be able to race our way back onto the lead lap.”

Fowler did just that, he worked his way back to the first car one lap off the pace in the second half of the race and then got back on the lead lap running 13th thanks to the lucky dog.  Then, transmission issues hit ending their day and their quest for a top 10.

“It was extremely frustrating knowing we had worked all night kept the car clean to get in the position we were,” added Fowler.  “With fresh rubber and a faster car than the guys in front of us then to break right before we had the chance to really show what we were capable of was really heartbreaking. I have to thank Eddie Sharp for giving me this opportunity and Kevin Caldwell for putting a fast car under me. Until bad luck took us out of the race, I know we would have had a top 10 easily and we didn't have a scratch on the car.”

Fowler’s next race in the ARCA Series is up in the air at present time as he seeks sponsorship for his racing program.
