I am extremely excited to be getting back in the car at Pocono, despite coming in with what I consider a little bit of a disadvantage being that most of the other competitors have already raced there once this year.
This will be my first trip to the "Tricky Triangle" so I'm sure it will be a learning experience. However my car has already been to victory lane twice in the Sprint Cup Series with driver Denny Hamlin behind the wheel, I can only hope some of his knowledge will rub off on me during the short practice. If I can get around here as good as he has we'll be in good shape. From what I've heard the track is pretty technical and has some really fast parts so it should be interesting to say the least.
I am confident going into the race because with the help of crew chief Kevin Caldwell and everyone here at Venturini Motorsports, we have already shown that we have the speed to contend for these races. We’ve been able to lead almost every time we have been to the track, only to have misfortune come our way ranging from mechanical failure to engine failure to brain failure. Hopefully it will all come together and we can get a good run in.
My goals coming into the weekend is certainly first and foremost to finish the race and secondly, if all goes well a top-5, if not a win.
