For 16-year-old Kyle Fowler, winning races and championships is not just a hobby – it has been this young man’s standard for success since he first began racing at the tender age of four.
Ever since he first set behind the wheel of a Quarter Midget, Fowler has been used to visiting victory lane. Even as he progressed up the racing ladder as he got older, Fowler did not take long to adapt to new challenges. He was winning feature events and titles in Bandolero and Legends Car action throughout the Southeast when most kids his age were barely old enough to play Little League. In local, regional and national competition, Fowler emerged as one of the brightest young talent to come around in years.
It takes many NASCAR drivers years to make it to victory lane at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC) or Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia, but young Kyle Fowler has already done it. He’s tasted titles at both tracks in Legends and Bandoleros, plus he’s been in the winner’s circle at short tracks throughout the Southeast in a familiar red #4 machine.
Fowler had a banner season in 2006 in which he competed for five championships in different Legends Car series around the region and won three of them and finished second in the other two.
In 2007, Fowler took on the challenges of the Georgia Asphalt Series Late Models, where he made a big splash by posting 14
top-10 finishes in 17 starts. The season ended with a solid top-15 run in the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway where more than 75 Late Models were on hand for the biggest Pro Late Model race of the season.
2008 saw Fowler try his hand in the nationally-televised ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour. He scored a career-best second-place finish at Lanier National Speedway (GA) in the James Garrison Memorial 100. He backed that up with a pole position and a runner-up finish at Peach State Speedway (GA) just a few weeks later.
2009 has already produced some exciting achievements in the racing career of Fowler. He started off the year with another runner-up finish in the prestigious SpeedFest at Lanier National Speedway (GA). In April he also made his first-ever NASCAR Camping World East Series start for Ken Schrader Racing
Fowler will continue his goal of racing full time after he finishes up his days of as a High School student. It’s been a way of life for him ever since he first strapped into a racecar.
